¡@¡@BEIJING, June 30 (Xinhuanet) -- France and China shoulder particular
responsibility for world peace and stability, both as permanent members of the
United Nations Security Council, said French Defense Minister Michele
Alliot-Marie in an interview with Xinhua here Monday.
¡@¡@At the invitation of her Chinese counterpart Cao Gangchuan, Alliot-Marie
arrived here Sunday for a three-day visit to China. She held meetings with
Chinese President Hu Jintao, Chairman of the Central Military Commission Jiang
Zemin and Defense Minister Cao here Monday.
¡@¡@The meetings with the Chinese side were effective, Alliot-Marietold Xinhua,
saying all-round friendly relations have enjoyed smooth development.
¡@¡@Alliot-Marie explained that the further development of the strategic
friendly relations included several aspects.
¡@¡@For high-level exchanges, she said, she has invited the Chinesedefense minister
to visit Paris and the chief of the general staff of the French armed
forces will pay a visit to China this September, she said.
¡@¡@The two sides will also have exchanges of personnel and military experience
at various levels, she said.
¡@¡@The exchanges will be conducted in the fields of military information, crisis
management and health work of the armed forces by the military
universities of the two sides, Alliot-Marie added.
¡@¡@In May 2002, Alliot-Marie took the post of French defense minister,
