¡@¡@ KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 15 (Xinhuanet) -- The 10th Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) summit here next month would discuss various resolutions aimed mainly at rejuvenating the organization, a senior official said on Monday.

¡@¡@The resolutions on political, economic and social affairs, reflecting the core principles of the 57-member OIC, would be presented to the heads of state for adoption, Deputy Foreign Minister Leo Michael Toyad told the Lower House here.

¡@¡@A brainstorming session would also be held during the OIC foreign ministers' preparatory meeting on Oct. 13, he said when replying to a question from Abu Bakar Othman, MP from a oppositionparty.

¡@¡@He said the session would discuss four key topics related to the development of the Ummah (Islamic Community) -- restructuring of OIC, rejuvenation of OIC, adoption of ICT and use of dinar in international trade.

¡@¡@Toyad said the government hoped that the summit would adopt the Putrajaya Declaration of Knowledge, Morality, Unity and Dignity for the Progress of Ummah to serve as a guide for the future direction of OIC.

¡@¡@The Malaysian government has allocated about 105 million ringgit (27.63 million US dollars) for organizing the summit, which will be held from Oct. 11 to 18.

¡@¡@It is the first time the OIC Summit is hosted by a Muslim country in the Asia Pacific region.

¡@¡@OIC was established in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco on Sept. 25, 1969 to pool together the resources of Islamic countries in promoting their interests and to consolidate their efforts to speak with a single united voice in advancing the peace and security of the Muslim world. Enditem ¡@
