¡@¡@TOKYO, Sept. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp. is in talks with a Chinese
automaker on jointly manufacturing automobile engines in China, a major
Japanese business daily reported Wednesday.
¡@¡@Suzuki Motor and Changhe Aircraft Industry (Group) Corp. already produce an
automobile through a joint venture and are now in talks to build a new
production site in east China's Jiangxi Province.
¡@¡@According to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Suzuki is also considering making a
second model with Changhe Aircraft and jointly build a plant for 1-liter-class
engines with an investmentof 15 to 22.5 billion yen (128 to 192 million US
dollars), which will be shared with Changhe.
¡@¡@With an annual capacity of 300,000 units, the new site is expected to go on
line around 2005, the newspaper said.
¡@¡@Since 2001, the two automakers have been producing the
Wagon R at Jiangxi Changhe Suzuki Automobile Co., which boasts an annual
