Indonesian court renders jail sentence to Bali bombing accomplices

¡@¡@JAKARTA, Sept. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- An Indonesian court on Wednesday sentenced two accomplices in the Bali bombings to seven years in jail each for their supportive role in the attacks that killed 202 people and wounded 350 others.

¡@¡@Presiding Judge Gede Damendra found Musyafak guilty of providing transport means for a key Bali bombing suspect, reported Detikcom online news service.

¡@¡@On a separate court, the judge panel also sent Najib Nawawi seven years behind bars for harboring Bali bombers -- Hernianto, Abdul Goni and Ali Gufron alias Muklas - when they were on the run.

¡@¡@The prosecutors in earlier hearings recommended a 10 year-jail sentence for both. Lawyers of both convicts said they would appealfor the higher court against the conviction.

¡@¡@At least seven men have been convicted in the Bali attacks, two of whom were sentenced to a maximum penalty of death for playing key roles in the worst terrorists attacks after the Sep. 11 strikes in US cities in 2001. Enditem
