¡@¡@JAKARTA, Sept. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- A district court on Indonesia's resort island of
Bali will deliver a verdict Thursday to a man who has confessed to
constructing and delivering bombs used in the last October attacks.
¡@¡@The judge panel presided over by Mulyani will make a crucial decision over
defendant Ali Imron, to whom prosecutors has recommended a relative "lenient"
jail sentence of 20 years while two other key suspects have been in death row
and another is expecting the capital punishment.
¡@¡@Prosecutors said in a previous hearing that Imron has expressed remorse,
acknowledged his actions were legally and morally wrong and been cooperative
with the police during investigation for the excuse of their lenient demand.
¡@¡@Imron is accused of constructing the bombs, planting one of them at the US
consulate in Bali and delivering others near two nightspots where 202 people
were killed in the explosions on Oct. 12.
¡@¡@His elder brother Amrozi has been sentenced to death
for preparing the explosives and a van used in the attacks while another brother
Ali Ghufron is facing the death sentence for a leadership role in the attacks.
