www.chinaview.cn 2006-05-26 14:37:45

BEIJING, May 26 (Xinhuanet) -- An official for New Zealand's Trade Development Board said in Shanghai Thursday that China is now the country¡¦s fourth largest trading partner.

Reportedly, the Chinese market has become the most powerful target market for New Zealand exports.

In recent years, trade exports to China amounted to about 1.6 billion New Zealand dollars (or about 8.1 billion Yuan), with food and beverage exports accounting for about one third of total exports.

Currently, New Zealand's main export commodities to China are milk, wool, beef, fish and timber. The major commodities imported from China are computers, women dress, shoes and toys.
