BAGHDAD, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki arrived here on Friday for talks with Iraqi officials.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said that Mottaki would "go to Iraq to discuss different issues with Iraqi officials."

Mattaki's visit was the first by a senior Iranian official after Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad won the election last June.
