¡@¡@China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC) was established in July 1949 on the eve of the founding of the People's Republic of China (October 1, 1949). It was one of the initiators initiating the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.


 
¡@¡@The First National Congress of Literary and Art Workers was held from July 2 to 19, 1949. On July 19, the All-China Federation of Literary and Art Circles was officially established, with the leadership including:

¡@¡@The Secend National Congress of Literary and Art Workers took place from September 23 to October 6, 1953, and the All-China Federation of Literary and Art Circles was renamed China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC). A new governing body was elected, including:

¡@¡@The Third National Congress of Literary and Art Workers took place from July 22 to August 13, 1960. A new and enlarged leadership was elected, including:

Vice Presidents: Mao Dun, Zhou Yang, Ba Jin, Lao She, Xu Guangping, Tian Han, Ouyang Yuqian, Mei Lanfang, Xia Yan, Cai Chusheng, He Xiangning, Ma Sicong, Fu Zhong, Seypidin Aze and Yang Hansheng.
In 1962, Liu Zhiming was added to the list of vice presidents.

 
¡@¡@The Fourth National Congress of Literary and Art Workers took place from October 30 to November 16, 1979. A new governing body was elected. It was comprised of:

¡@¡@The Fifth CFLAC National Congress took place from November 8 to 12, 1988. The CFLAC constitution was amended and a new governing body was elected. Its members included:
