Chapter 5：The Overseas Chinese：the Regional Relating and the Regional Development
Introduction：
The overseas Chinese all over the world are estimated to possess 2 trillion US dollars of wealth and they cannot be ignored by any economic entities. Since China’s opening to the outside world，overseas Chinese and compatriots in Hong Kong and Macao have invested about 330 billion US dollars which account for over 60% of the total direct investments in China. They have become an important force in China’s economic development. About 60% of the overseas Chinese are from Southeast Asia and they are one of the main driving forces to inject foreign investment into China. Chinese Chambers of Commerce are playing important coordinating and guiding roles for China against the backdrop of the globalization and regional integrations. The extolable Chinese entrepreneurs in ASEAN member countries should be the key driving force in the promotion of the economic cooperation between China and ASEAN member countries.
The accurate understanding of overseas Chinese entrepreneurs may help to gain their trust.杄
As the economy develops gradually in China and ASEAN member countries and the cooperation in Pan-Beibu Gulf prospers，the huge stage is gradually presented before the Southeast Asian Chinese entrepreneurs who share the same ancestor and language as us. Ties and bridges are needed for the cooperation between China and ASEAN member countries and the overseas Chinese entrepreneurs are actually the force that can promote better，faster and greater integration so as to achieve win-win results.杄
Regional economic cooperation needs both powerful connections inside and outside the region. There are many ways to set up regional relating economy. But which relating way is more effective? The Relating Law reminds us of finding the answers in the basic law of the Relating Economy. For example，the relating of the people who share the same ancestor and culture in the same area and have similar background of economy，politics and diplomacy is the most powerful relating. The Chinese，Southeast Asian Chinese and the overseas Chinese entrepreneurs may most possible constitute the crucial and harmonious relating ties.
Chapter 5 which defines ASEAN Chinese entrepreneurs as wealth generator，expound their philosophy of wealth，their ideas of charity and profits and predict the new prosperity by their generations，reveals and reminds that China and ASEAN member countries need to have an accurate understanding of the powerful relating force of the overseas Chinese entrepreneurs.

Abstract：Regional economic cooperation needs powerful relation from both inside and outside the region. There are many ways to set up regional relating.
