PRAGUE, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese pianist Lang Lang will perform October next year in Prague accompanied by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ion Martin, according to Czech News Agency (CTK) report here Monday.

Lang Lang performed at the Prague Spring Festival as a soloist of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in 2014 and two years earlier at his first solo Czech recital at a donation gala concert for the Dvorak Prague Festival.

"Lang Lang, a pianist, teacher and philanthropist, sells famous concert halls around the world and performs with the most award-winning orchestras and conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Gustavo Dudamel, Daniel Barenboim and Christoph Eschenbach," CTK quoted Vladimíra Zahradnikova from the organizing company JV Classics as saying.

Lang Lang began playing the piano at the age of 3 and had his first public recital in less than 5 years old. At the age of 9 he joined the Central Music Conservatory in Beijing and 4 years later he won first prize at the Tchaikovsky International Competition for Young Musicians.

He then went to Philadelphia to study at the Curtis Institute of Music. He is known for often interconnecting different musical worlds. His performances at the Grammy Awards with rock Metallica, Pharrell Williams, or jazz legend Herbie Hancock have been repeatedly watched by millions of viewers.
