A facial mask production line was put into operation Monday in Naqu Prefecture, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. Located at an altitude of more than 4,500 meters, it becomes the highest-altitude mask production line in China. The factory covers an area of about 400 square meters with a maximum daily output of 120,000 masks. A total of 4 million yuan (around 564,000 U.S. dollars) has been invested in the project. It has created 15 local jobs. On the first day of production, the factory received an order for 550,000 masks. Naqu is one of the areas with the hardest living conditions in Tibet.
