CHENGDU, China, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Inner Mongolia completed another lop-sided victory by thrashing Shandong 101-56 in the Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA) league here on Sunday.

The emerging powerhouse tamed Hebei by a 44-point gap on Friday. Center Li Yueru shot 10 of 12 from the field to finish with a game-high 21 points. Chen Liyu helped with 16. Wei Wei nailed 14 points off the bench.

"We inflicted great pressure on our opponents throughout the game. Offensively we played inside out and showed our level," Inner Mongolia coach Zheng Wei reflected.

Li felt a bit uncomfortable about Shandong's double team early in the match, but soon get used to that, making two baskets and feeding Chen's two layups, to help Inner Mongolia race ahead 19-15 in the first quarter.

Fueled by Wei's six points in a row, Inner Mongolia widened the gap back to seven points, and they used a 22-13 second quarter to build a 13-point advantage at halftime.

Shandong began to lose momentum after the interval, and Inner Mongolia scored many fast break points on turnovers. With a 30-point margin in hand before the last 10 minutes, Inner Mongolia met little challenge thereafter.

On the Shandong side, Yang Hengyu contributed 16 points, while Qiao Yanzi added 12.

"They're the best team in the league, and proved it today," said Shandong coach Luka Sjekloca. Enditem
