KIGALI, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- The Rwandan men's senior national team, Amavubi, on Wednesday announced the 37-man provisional squad, including ten foreign-based players, ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Cape Verde next month after a suspension due to the COVID-19.
The team will report to a residential camp at a hotel in Bugesera district, south-central Rwanda, on Friday, head coach Vincent Mashami told journalists at a press conference in Rwandan capital city Kigali.
Kevin Monnet-Paquet, forward for French Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne, is among the foreign-based players, and will be the first time he appears for Amavubi.
Cape Verde is scheduled to host Rwanda on November 13 while a return leg match will be played in Kigali on November 17. Both nations are in Group F, which also features Cameroon and Mozambique.
In the previous Group F matches, Rwanda was beaten by Mozambique and Cameroon by 2-0 and 1-0 respectively.
