FUZHOU, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- A grain trade conference began on Monday in east China's Fujian Province.

The third China Grain Trade Conference drew delegations from 31 provinces, municipalities and regions, and over 2,000 grain-focused enterprises, as well as experts, to the city of Fuzhou, the provincial capital.

The number of enterprise participants increased by more than 400 compared with that of last year, according to Qin Yuyun, spokesperson of the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration.

"The great scale of the conference not only indicates China's effective control of the COVID-19 epidemic but also shows the Chinese government's confidence in and recognition of grain safety. The conference itself is a powerful answer to the concern of China's grain safety," said the United Nations World Food Program China representative Qu Sixi.

"The conference means a lot to grain safety," Qu added.

The conference will conclude on Wednesday. Enditem
