Recognized as the "amateur undertaker" on Taihang Mountain, Guo Haibo has buried 22 martyrs' remains who had fought their life for China during the Anti-Japanese War. Licheng County, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Guo Haibo, a villager at Kongjiajiao Village in north China's Shanxi, grew up with the heroic stories of the Chinese Eighth Route Army. He was told that fallen heroes' temporary tombs or bodies were scattered on the mountain where he lived, as Kongjiajiao Village was stationed by the Eighth Route Army during the war against the invading Japanese army. He decided to do something for the unsung heroes, hence starting his 8-year long amateur undertaker life. With time passing by, it becomes more challenging to locate the deceased soldiers' bodies. However, Guo is not giving up. A tomb for martyrs' remains was built in 2017 with donations and helps from society. The search for the fallen heroes' bodies has been carried on.
