China's Xinjiang releases 3 mln fry into Bosten Lake

China's Xinjiang has released more than 3 million fish fry into Bosten Lake, the country's largest inland freshwater lake. The release of the young fish, mainly consisting of three fish species, is expected to improve the ecology and biodiversity of the lake. Bosten Lake is the biggest fishery base in Xinjiang. With an area of 1,646 square km, the lake is home to over 30 fish varieties and boasts an annual output of some 4,000 tonnes.
