SEOUL, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Price for goods and services among South Korean suppliers rose for four straight months through September on higher farm goods price, central bank data showed Wednesday.

The producer price index (PPI) stood at 103.35 in September, up 0.1 percent from a month earlier, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK). The index continued to gain since June.

Price for agricultural, livestock and fishery products advanced 4.9 percent last month owing to a series of typhoons and the unusually long rainy season.

The Chuseok holiday, the South Korean version of Thanksgiving Day, raised demand and price for farm goods.

Agricultural product price jumped 7.1 percent, with those for livestock and fishery products increasing 4.2 percent and 1.3 percent each.

The price for industrial products fell 0.1 percent in September from a month earlier on lower prices for semiconductors and coal and oil products.

Price for electricity, tap water and natural gas added 0.3 percent in the month.

Services price declined 0.2 percent last month as the end of the summer vacation season lowered price for eatery and lodging services. Enditem
