BEIJING, March 23 (Xinhuanet) -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that Israel is China’s comprehensive partner in innovation, during an online chat with Xinhua netizens.

"I think it explains the fit, I would almost say the marriage, between Israeli technology and Chinese marketing and industrial capacity," Netanyahu told Xinhuanet on the last day of his official visit to China.

"The marriage of the Chinese economic capacities and Israel’s innovation capacities is something that provides benefit to both our peoples, and in my opinion, to the world," he added.

Netanyahu said that Israel has always prized scholarship and questioning minds and that he sees a similarity in China’s traditional pursuit of scholarship, excellence and entrepreneurship.

“What we would like to do is to take our particular experience of innovation and put it to use for the benefit of China,” he continued.

Netanyahu held that China clearly recognizes the importance of technology for improving people’s quality of life in various aspects, for instance, a higher level of personal income, clean air as well as easier and safer transport.

He noted that there has been a tremendous increase in Chinese investment in Israeli high technology since just four years ago when he last visited china.

Netanyahu believes that China and Israel’s cooperation in innovation benefits both countries.

Netanyahu paid an official visit to China from March 19 to 22 at the invitation of Premier Li Keqiang.
