KATHMANDU, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Nepal is organizing a one- country commerce and trade fair in Lhasa of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China from Sept. 15 to 19, Industry, Commerce and Supply Ministry of Nepal said here Wednesday.
"The delegation led by Rup Jyoti, assistant minister for Finance, left for the fair entitled 'Nepal-China-Tibet Economic and Trade Fair 2005' on Tuesday," the ministry said in a press statement.
The fair is organized aiming to promote the existing trade relation between Nepal and China, the statement said.
"We hope the fair will be a milestone to increase the export of Nepali products to China and strengthen the friendship between Nepal and China from the economic level," the statement added. There will be 40 stalls, including 38 of goods of handicrafts, agricultural, industrial, construction materials, food items, among others and two stalls of service sectors, in the fair. "A total of 56 different Nepali enterprise will exhibit their products and introduce their services in the fair," the statement said.
The fair is being organized as per the general understanding reached between Nepal and China in 1990 on organizing a trade fair every two years in both of the countries with the objective of promoting bilateral trade and economic relations, the statement noted.
Nepal is organizing forth of this kind of fair in Tibet, while China has also organized three times such kind of fairs in Kathmandu, the statement added. Enditem
