O. J. Mayo's 31 helps Liaoning smash Tianjin in CBA

QINGDAO, China, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Former NBA player O. J. Mayo got 31 points, five rebounds and six assists on Monday, helping the Liaoning Flying Leopards defeat the Tianjin Pioneers 133-78 in the 2019-20 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season.

With Mayo's floater and domestic players' three 3-pointers, Liaoning had an 11-0 run at the beginning of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Liaoning's guard Guo Ailun and center Han Dejun successively smashed Tianjin's basket to build a 35-point lead at the first half.

Tianjin tried hard to strengthen its attack in the coming quarter with 26 points, but Mayo has got 28 points before the last quarter.

Tianjin suffered its 11th straight defeat after the league's restart. Liaoning had nine players reach double figures in points, including Han, who had 13 points and 13 rebounds. Guo got 11 points, nine assists and four steals, Zhao Jiwei added 10 points and eight assists.

Liaoning has now won three in a row and will face the Jilin Northeast Tigers on Wednesday. Enditem
